Colloquium Daniele Viganò (ICE-CSIC): Simulating magnetic fields in astrophysical bodies

Abstract:
Magnetic fields play an important role in astrophysical bodies, from planets to neutron stars. In this talk I will describe how to simulate the long-term evolution of magnetic field and temperature in astrophysical bodies, and the magnetic field amplification in binary neutron star mergers.
