The article Topological localized states in the time delayed Adler model: Bifurcation analysis and interaction law has been selected as featured article and it has been published in the front page of Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science. This research was conducted by Leon Munsberg, Julien Javaloyes, and Svetlana Gurevich in the framework of a Master  student co-direction between WWU Münster and the IAC3.

In layman terms, the article expose:

The time-delayed Adler equation is a seemingly simple equation that represents, however, faithfully the experimental dynamics observed in injected lasers with optical feedback. This prototypical model is arguably the simpler that allows for the existence of topological Localized states (LSs) in the long delay limit. We provide a detailed bifurcation analysis of the delayed Adler model and we show by which mechanisms LSs are born. Finally, we derive effective equations of motion that allow to study the relative motion of LSs considering them as weakly interacting particles.
